It was such an honor to be a part of Silas and Jessie’s wedding! This lovely couple, Silas and Jessie, met in undergrad at the University of Southern California in the fall of the 2012 semester. Over time, they fell in love, got engaged, and then tied the knot!
It was a wonderful day in February for Silas and Jessie to get married! The couple started off their big day by getting ready with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Jessie gifted her ladies with matching robes, which were absolutely adorable! A gorgeous gown, sparkling shoes, flowers in her hair; Jessie certainly was a beautiful bride! In addition, Silas flaunted a dashing white suit paired with a festive bow tie down the aisle …so handsome!
After getting all dolled up, everyone headed to Il Mercato, where the wedding ceremony and reception took place. First-look and formal photos were then captured, by the wonderful photographer, The Carter’s Touch!
It was then time for the wedding ceremony to begin! First the couples’ grandparents headed down the aisle to the song Arioso by Bach. Then, the bridal party made their way down the aisle to the song Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring by Bach, followed by Jessie, who had her walk complemented by the song Bridal Chorus by Wagner. All of the beautiful music was presented by New Orleans Classical & Jazz.
Once Jessie made her way to the altar, she was greeted by stunning greenery and romantic candles, creating a truly intimate setting to tie the knot among! The couple evoked their vows to one another, sealed the deal with a kiss, and headed back down the aisle as newlyweds to the song Trumpet Tune by Purcell.
It was then time for the celebration to begin! The bridesmaids made a festive entrance into the wedding reception to the song Money by Cardi B, while the groomsmen entered to the song Going Bad by Meek Mill. Then, it was time for the newlyweds to make their grand entrance, and they did so to the song Choppa Style by Choppa.
The music didn’t stop there! As it was then time for some dances to take place. The newlyweds took the stage and had a romantic first dance to the song Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder. In addition, a beautiful father/daughter dance took place, to the song Daddy by Beyoncé, followed by the mother/son dance, to the song A Song for Mama by Boyz II Men. All of the wonderful music was presented by the festive DJ, DJ Chris Stylez.
Guests were then served up delicious cuisine! Louisiana Ratatouille, Southern style stone ground cheese grits, tender chicken breasts stuffed with creole rice dressing; so many scrumptious menu items were presented. And, let’s not forget about the gorgeous wedding cake, which was baked up by Frosted Fantasies by Nikki.
In addition to tasty food, guests were also surrounded with extravagant elements of décor! Romantic candles topped tables, presented by New Orleans Candlelight Décor, which were paired with luxurious floral arrangements, showcased by Arbor House Floral & Fragrance. The combination was truly stunning!
Dancing the night away then took place, along with a festive photo booth presented by Yazzie’s NOLA, which provided a great deal of fun for guests of all ages! Then, to end the night, the newlyweds and their guests hit the streets to take part in a second line parade, with music presented by Kinfolk Brass Band.
